MDMA was first synthesized in 1912. It was patented in Germany by the Merck Company in 1914. At that time it was not the subject of human research. Merck stumbled across MDMA when they tried to synthesize Hydrastinin, a vasoconstrictive and styptic medicine.
MDMA (also commonly known as Ecstasy, X, E, XTC, Adam, etc.) is a semi-synthetic chemical compound. In its pure form, it is a white crystalline powder. It usually seen in capsule form, in pressed pills, or as loose powder. Average cost ranges from $10-$30 (U.S.) a dose (1999 price).
Common routes of administration are swallowing or snorting, although it can be smoked or injected as well. Currently, MDMA is on the U.S. Schedule I of controlled substances, and is illegal to manufacture, possess, or sell in the United States. Most other countries have similar laws.

CAUTION: May induce inappropriate and unintended emotional-bond imprinting. In other words Don't do this with people you hate, or you might end up liking them. Not a bad warning for an illegal substance.
The drug is probably illegal in the U.S. and Canada because society might become too peaceful if large numbers of people were to try it. Ours is a society built and maintained on violence.
Lesbianism And Ecstasy
Suppose you know a woman who is interested in lesbianism, but is too shy to try anything with you.
If you do some ecstasy together she will be most interested in hugging and kissing and otherwise being close to you.
You will also most likely not have any interest in sex. If you let yourself, (and some people can't resist) you'll have these same feelings for just about anyone in fact.
This can include girls and guys who are otherwise straight. E has a way of making you look past such things as a persons sex, and helps you to connect with the person within. I know of a great many E users who are otherwise completely straight and when rolling find themselves entirely bisexual.
To some people this is internally uncomfortable both during and especially after a roll since this is a side of themselves that they have been taught to repress.
To those who have learned to deal with it, they find it a beautiful thing and I suspect there are a great many drug bisexuals who would concur with me.
