History Of Pai Gow Poker

Pai Gow Poker Pai Gow Poker is a form of Pai Gow that was invented in America. The game of Pai Gow itself was developed in China, and is played with playing cards or dominoes. In the early Chinese dynasties, dominoes were used while modern versions of Pai Gow use cards.

Prior to the game of Pai Gow, two Chinese gambling games were attributed to its development,yu-p'u and yeh-tza. Yeh-tza is considered to be a card game because of the meaning of its name (translated to English, it becomes leaves). Many authors consider the relation between leaves and cards to be apparent, so it was taken for granted that yeh-tza was a card game.

Pai Gow was first played in the US in the 1800s. Since then, the game has changed a bit. In the late 20th century that the game got transformed to the current form of Pai Gow Poker which is a merge of the ancient Chinese game Pai Gow and the modern game of poker.

Pai Gow Poker is also known as double hand poker and was created in America by the team of Fred Wolf and Sam Torosian. Fred Wolf was a casino owner, he found it easy to feature the game of Pai Gow Poker in his casino.

Pai Gow Poker started being featured in casinos in the 1980's. Even some online casinos have started offering this variation of poker. This is because most casual gamblers (with a limited bankroll) prefer playing Pai Gow Poker in online casinos instead of taking flights to Las Vegas and spending money in hotels there.

Pai Gow Poker is an easy game to learn and play and is thus a game that is suitable for both beginners and seasoned players. The advantage of playing Pai Gow Poker over other games is that a small bankroll is sufficient for a player to last a long time in the game as it is a rather slow moving game. This is a game that is great for a change in poker games where you find some variety in the way poker is played.

The object of the game is for players to make 2 poker hands out of the 7 cards in their hand. One hand has to be a 5 card poker hand and the other must be a 2 card poker hand. And the 5 card hand must be a higher hand than the 2 card hand. The 2 card hand is called the hand in front or on top, and the 5 card hand is called the hand behind or on bottom.

If each of the players hands beat the bankers corresponding hand, then he wins the bet. If only one of his hands beats the banker then he pushes. If both of his hands lose to the banker then he loses. Ties go to the banker this gives the banker an advantage. If the player fouls his hand (meaning that his low hand beats his high hand, or that there are an incorrect number of cards in each hand) the player must arrange the hand accordingly or forfeit of the hand.
